Shmyr buries four, Icemen squeak past Raiders
Calgary, AB – Cayden Shmyr scored four goals including his 40th goal of the season with 8:30 remaining in the third period and and added two assists to guide the Icemen to an 8-7 conquest over the Raiders at Frank McCool on Friday.
Rounding out the scoring for the Icemen was David Seal with two goals, Matt Kanters and Maximus Giangualano chipping in with a goal each. Seal added three assists, Alex Ponich. Goaltender Ed Dizon picked up the win for the Icemen giving up seven goals.
Cashing in for the Raiders was Ryan Bremer with two goals and Ryan Matthys, Byron Thomson, Tanner Toews, Brendan Tyrrell and Reed McKinnon each adding single tallies. Matthys, Thomson, Marcus Hoover and Darren Smith each added two assists. Goaltender Tyson Chaivs surrendered eight goals in the loss for the Raiders.
With the win, the Icemen improve to 17-10-2-0 while the Raiders fall to 10-14-5-0.
