Calgary, AB – Cory Fraser scored a hat-trick and added five assists as the Goldenhawks extended its winning streak to nine games with a 12-3 pounding over The Herd at Optimist on Saturday.

Adding markers for the Goldenhawks was Kurt Thorner, Jaime Clague and Austin Smith and Dan Warkentin with a pair of goals each and Austin Warkentin with a single tally. Fraser added five assists, Thorner added four assists, Warkentin and Cole Percifield each added three assists, Clague and Liam Wiese each added two assists. Goaltender Jordan Meinhardt picked up the victory for the Goldenhawks giving up three goals.

Scoring for The Herd was Ethan Trampuh with two goals and Tyler Witzke with a single marker. Bryan Weber and Jaren Turnquist each added two assists. Goaltender Nick Ewanchuk surrendered 12 goals in the loss for The Herd.

With the victory, the Goldenhawks improve to 20-7-1-0 while The Herd fall to 7-19-2-0.
