Calgary, AB – Aaron Merkosky scored two goals and added three assists to help support the Mustangs in an 8-5 victory over the Smokin' Guns at Optimist on Sunday.

Adding markers for the Mustangs was Colin Baillargeon and BJ Gurba, Chad Phillips, Braydon Hart, Taylor Johnson and Matthew Emmerson each with single strikes. Baillargeon, Gurba, Phillips added two assists. Goaltender JF Voyer picked up the victory for the Mustangs giving up five goals.

Providing the offence for the Smokin' Guns was Clifton O'Brien, Kurtis Ruhl, Joel Manson, Kyle Thompson and Evan Ives with a goal each. O'Brien, TJ Winters and Danny Faulkner each added two assists. Goaltender James McGivern surrendered eight goals in the loss for the Smokin' Guns.

With the victory, the Mustangs improve to 18-10-4-0 while the Smokin' Guns fall to 11-17-4-0.
