Kathol tallies pair, Panthers comeback to edge Blazers
Calgary, AB – Todd Kathol scored two goals including his 14th goal of the season with 1:48 remaining in the third period and and added three assists as the Panthers erased a three-goal deficit and extended their winning streak to five games with a 6-5 triumph over the Blazers at Stew Hendry on Sunday.
Capping off the scoring for the Panthers was Tyler Boldt with two goals and Mike Leslie and Mike Kruchten chipping in with a goal each. Matt Bucholz, Boldt added two assists. Goaltender Doug Lavers picked up the victory for the Panthers giving up five goals.
Finding the twine for the Blazers was Travis Rohl, Aaron Mckay, Jake Mandin, Chris Hagel and Jeff Sexsmith each tallying single markers. Rohl and David Reimer each added two assists. Goaltender Jake Moddle surrendered six goals in the loss for the Blazers.
The Blazers jumped out to a 3-0 lead when Rohl scored his 20th of the season with 18:24 left in the second period but Boldt responded for the Panthers with his 20th of the season to start the rally.
With the victory, the Panthers improve to 19-8-2-0 while the Blazers fall to 6-18-4-0.
