Calgary, AB – Matthew Goddard scored his sixth goal of the season with 0:55 remaining in the third period and Jeff Metzger scored two goals and added an assist to help lift the Grasshoppers to an 8-7 victory over the Warthogs at Norma Bush on Saturday.

Adding markers for the Grasshoppers was Sean Murray with two goals and Carson Packer, Frank Colapaolo, Kevin Lodberg each adding single goals. Ryan Hildebrandt added three assists, Packer and Duane Smith each added two assists. Goaltender Nathan Porco picked up the victory for the Grasshoppers giving up seven goals.

The victory extinguished the Grasshoppers' four-game losing streak.

Scoring for the Warthogs was Matt Thesien with four strikes, Jordan Thornley with two goals and Jared Vaness with a single marker. Thornley added four assists and Stu Mckenzie added two assists. Goaltender Shaun McKenzie surrendered eight goals in the loss for the Warthogs.

With the victory, the Grasshoppers improve to 5-4-2-0 while the Warthogs fall to 2-8-2-0.
