Bishop nets hat-trick, Hopewell Hurricanes rally to vanquish Tailgaters
Calgary, AB – Matt Thibault* scored his first goal of the season with 9:38 remaining in the third period and Scott Bishop scored a hat-trick and added an assist to spark the Hopewell Hurricanes to an 8-7 win over the Tailgaters at Stu Peppard on Sunday.
Also scoring for the Hopewell Hurricanes was Ash Johnson* with two goals, John Doyle*, Mark Alberts* each adding a goal. Johnson*, Doyle* and Preston Yachimec* each added three assists. Goaltender Adam Burton* picked up the win for the Hopewell Hurricanes giving up seven goals.
Lighting the lamp for the Tailgaters was Dan Paulucci and Colin Sticksl with a pair of goals each, Brian Hogg*, Jason Iwanika and Lance Nixon* each adding single goals. Hogg* added three assists, Paulucci, Tristan Janusc* and Rusty Jenner* each added two assists. Goaltender Todd Bettison* surrendered eight goals in the loss for the Tailgaters.
The Tailgaters jumped out to a 6-3 lead when Nixon* scored his first of the season with 8:50 left in the second period but Johnson* responded for the Hopewell Hurricanes with his second of the season to start the rally.
With the win, the Hopewell Hurricanes improve to 2-1-1-0 while the Tailgaters fall to 2-2-0-0.
