Calgary, AB – Matt Dawe* scored four goals to fuel the Tailgaters to a 12-5 thrashing over the Hopewell Hurricanes at Stew Hendry on Sunday.

Capping off the scoring for the Tailgaters was Jason Iwanika with two goals, Ben Follett* and Tristan Janusc*, Ben Bleakley*, Rusty Jenner*, Chris Legrow* and Trevor Chown each tallying single markers. Iwanika and Follett* each added four assists, Bleakley*, Janusc* and Craig Rollison* each added three assists, Jenner* and Lance Nixon* each added two assists. Goaltender Todd Bettison* picked up the win for the Tailgaters giving up five goals.

The victory extinguished the Tailgaters' three-game losing streak.

Finding the twine for the Hopewell Hurricanes was Paul Taylor with two goals and Steve Nemeth, Matt Thibault* and Mark Alberts* chipping in with a goal each. Scott Bishop and Stacy Mathieson* each added two assists. Goaltender Steve Tolhurst* surrendered 12 goals in the loss for the Hopewell Hurricanes.

With the win, the Tailgaters improve to 16-15-1-0 while the Hopewell Hurricanes fall to 12-15-5-0.
