Chevron comeback to edge Tailgaters
Calgary, AB – Kim Smith* scored his 12th goal of the season with 4:02 remaining in the third period and Mike Prins* scored a goal and added two assists to lead the Chevron erased a three-goal deficit and to a 5-4 triumph over the Tailgaters at Norma Bush on Saturday.
Capping off the scoring for the Chevron was Josh Collier*, Keith Bishop*, Casey Bajnok* each tallying single markers. Prins*, Pierre Turcotte* and Lee Nickel* each added two assists. Goaltender Darrell Gall* picked up the victory for the Chevron giving up four goals.
The victory extinguished the Chevron's three-game losing streak.
Finding the twine for the Tailgaters was Ben Bleakley* with two goals and Chris Legrow* and Derek Sharp* chipping in with a goal each. Goaltender Todd Bettison* surrendered five goals in the loss for the Tailgaters.
The Chevron jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Bishop* scored his fifth of the season with 18:12 left in the first period but Bleakley* responded for the Tailgaters with his 35th of the season to start the rally.
With the victory, the Chevron improve to 6-12-1-0 while the Tailgaters fall to 6-10-3-0.
