Calgary, AB – John Givens scored a hat-trick and added an assist to guide the Icemen to a 9-3 throttling over the Hopewell Hurricanes at Ernie Starr on Sunday.

Rounding out the scoring for the Icemen was Evan Michalchuk with two goals, Alex Ponich and Brian Patterson, Sean Jozsa and Gord MacLean chipping in with a goal each. Scott MacLean and Travis Copp each added three assists and Ponich added two assists. Goaltender Jean-Michelle Auger picked up the win for the Icemen giving up three goals.

Cashing in for the Hopewell Hurricanes was Aaron Cowley*, Brad Slomp and Scott Bishop* each adding single tallies. Cowley* added two assists. Goaltender Jay Greening surrendered nine goals in the loss for the Hopewell Hurricanes.

With the win, the Icemen improve to 3-2-0-0 while the Hopewell Hurricanes fall to 0-5-0-0.
