Jones nets hat-trick, Wolves spank Warthogs
Calgary, AB – Mat Jones scored a hat-trick and added two assists as the Wolves extended its winning streak to five games with a 12-2 whipping over the Warthogs at Optimist on Saturday.
Capping off the scoring for the Wolves was Jason Gouw and Rob Conrad with a pair of goals each and Noel Macri, Shane Jones, Chris Scase, Shawn Johnson and Trevor Sorge each tallying single markers. Gouw and Macri each added four assists, Chad Gutor added three assists, Jones, Gred Bessey and Jeremy Omelchuk each added two assists. Goaltender Nathan Steinke picked up the victory for the Wolves giving up 0 goals.
Contributing the only offence for the Warthogs was Cory Serds with two goals. Bil Schwalm added two assists. Goaltender Todd Ashton surrendered 0 goals in the loss for the Warthogs.
With the victory, the Wolves improve to 5-0-0-0 while the Warthogs fall to 1-4-0-0.
