Calgary, AB – Caleb Pierce scored a hat-trick and added an assist as the xy - Hopewell Hurricanes extended its winning streak to eight games with a 8-1 clobbering over the Schooners at Optimist on Saturday.

Capping off the scoring for the xy - Hopewell Hurricanes was Steve Nemeth* with two goals, John Doyle* and Matt Thibault* and Andy Keats* each adding single tallies. Nemeth* added three assists, Doyle*, Scott Bishop* and Barry Tanguay* each added two assists. Goaltender Dave Garcia* picked up the win for the xy - Hopewell Hurricanes holding the Schooners to a single goal.

Tallying the lone goal for the Schooners was and Jamie Prior*, his 19th of the season. Goaltender Jimmy Farrell* surrendered eight goals in the loss for the Schooners.

The loss snuffed out the Schooners' three-game winning streak.

With the win, the xy - Hopewell Hurricanes improve to 17-1-1-0 while the Schooners fall to 7-12-0-0.
