Storrs strikes twice, Grasshoppers squeak past Warthogs
Calgary, AB – Jesse Storrs scored two goals as the Grasshoppers extended their winning streak to five games with a 7-5 conquest over the Warthogs at Optimist on Saturday.
Rounding out the scoring for the Grasshoppers was Cole Widdifield* and Colin Hughes* with a pair of goals each and Sean Murray* with a single tally. Duane Smith* added three assists, Chris Pushie* and Joel VanDerVelden each added two assists. Goaltender Dan Oxton (spare) picked up the win for the Grasshoppers giving up five goals.
Cashing in for the Warthogs was Stu Mckenzie* with two goals and Scott Lyons*, Jarrod Stanton* and Jordan Thornley chipping in with a goal each. Lyons* added three assists. Goaltender Shaun McKenzie* surrendered seven goals in the loss for the Warthogs.
With the win, the Grasshoppers improve to 11-15-3-0 while the Warthogs fall to 12-11-6-0.
