Draper* scores five, Da Byes comeback to thrash Sleeman Brewers
Calgary, AB – Kevin Draper* scored five goals to lead the Da Byes erased a four-goal deficit and to a 14-7 whipping over the Sleeman Brewers at Frank McCool on Friday.
Completing the scoring for for the Da Byes was Glenn Saunders* with a hat-trick, Mike Taylor* with two goals, Kyle Gurash* and Chris Avery*, Shaun Mazur* and Jason Brown* chipping in with singles. Ricardo Piscitelli* and Nick Palmer* each added five assists, Gurash* added three assists, Avery*, Curtis Billsten* and Blair Neil* each added two assists. Goaltender Doug Lavers picked up the victory for the Da Byes giving up seven goals.
Finding the twine for the Sleeman Brewers was Erich Binner with four strikes and Peter Dmytruk*, Justin Wetsch* and Gilles Hickey chipping in with a goal each. Dmytruk* added three assists, Binner, Wetsch* and Louis Basque* each added two assists. Goaltender Paul Marsh surrendered 14 goals in the loss for the Sleeman Brewers.
The Da Byes jumped out to a 14-7 lead when Gurash* scored his 11th of the season with 1:22 left in the third period but Dmytruk* responded for the Sleeman Brewers with his eighth of the season to start the rally.
With the victory, the Da Byes improve to 20-7-2-0 while the Sleeman Brewers fall to 6-20-3-0.
