Stachniak* nets hat-trick, The Swarm rally to outperform Rustlers
Calgary, AB – Pat Stachniak* scored a hat-trick to help secure The Swarm erased a three-goal deficit and a victory in a 9-6 victory over the Rustlers at Stew Hendry on Sunday.
Adding markers for The Swarm was Brian Scherban* with two goals, Steve Kelly* and Brad Dougherty*, Curtis Cann* and Mike Manuel* each contributing with single markers. Kelly* and Jim Vasilopoulos each added three assists and Paul Jay* added two assists. Goaltender David Feke picked up the victory for The Swarm giving up six goals.
Providing the offence for the Rustlers was Riley O'Hara, Nick Darling, Brad Hart, Tyson Viehweger, Rob Rishaug and Ryan Wales with a goal each. O'Hara, Darling and Fraser Grant each added two assists. Goaltender Cam Goldade surrendered nine goals in the loss for the Rustlers.
The Rustlers jumped out to a 3-0 lead when Rishaug scored his 11th of the season with 9:48 left in the first period but Scherban* responded for The Swarm with his first of the season to start the rally.
With the victory, The Swarm improve to 4-12-1-0 while the Rustlers fall to 8-6-2-0.
