Calgary, AB – Launey Newell scored a hat-trick and added an assist as the Knights extended their winning streak to six games with a 8-6 conquest over the Slashers at Village Square on Saturday.

Rounding out the scoring for the Knights was Rob Curts and Shawn Calafatis*, Erryl Copeland*, Darryn Listman and Derek Boeckx* each adding single tallies. Curts added four assists, Calafatis* and Austin Sedgwick each added two assists. Goaltender Trevor Sedgwick* picked up the win for the Knights giving up six goals.

Cashing in for the Slashers was Andrew Stevenson* and Mike Belanger* with a pair of goals each, Chris Roa-Yaremkowycz* and Kevin Sorochak* chipping in with a goal each. Roa-Yaremkowycz* and Arthur Boykiw* each added two assists. Goaltender John Kilbride surrendered eight goals in the loss for the Slashers.

With the win, the Knights improve to 6-1-0-0 while the Slashers fall to 1-6-0-0.
