Mack* nets hat-trick, Slashers mount comeback to conquer Schooners
Calgary, AB – Kyle Mack* scored a hat-trick including his 19th goal of the season with 12:53 remaining in the third period and and added five assists to help the Slashers erased a four-goal deficit and to a 13-12 win over the Schooners at Ernie Starr on Sunday.
Rounding out the scoring for the Slashers was Dave Foss* with a hat-trick, Chris Roa-Yaremkowycz* and David Gyger* with a pair of goals each and Arthur Boykiw*, Steve Fodchuk* and Brent Cooper* with a goal each. Boykiw* added seven assists, Fodchuk* added four assists, Roa-Yaremkowycz* added three assists, Cooper* added two assists. Goaltender Cole Warawa picked up the win for the Slashers giving up 12 goals.
Striking for the Schooners was Danny White* with a hat-trick, Wade Snook with a hat-trick, Darren MacIsaac with two goals and Jeff Campbell*, Nick Gill*, Tim Farrell* and Jimmy Farrell* each adding a goal. MacIsaac added five assists, White* added four assists, Campbell*, Steve Whitehead* and Greg MacQuarrie* each added two assists. Goaltender Jimmy Farrell* surrendered 13 goals in the loss for the Schooners.
The Slashers jumped out to a 9-6 lead when Roa-Yaremkowycz* scored his 14th of the season with 5:03 left in the second period but Snook responded for the Schooners with his 23rd of the season to start the rally.
With the win, the Slashers improve to 5-7-4-0 while the Schooners fall to 7-7-2-0.
