Calgary, AB – Darcy Frey scored a hat-trick to help fuel the Icemen to an 8-2 pounding over the Sofa Kings at Stew Hendry on Sunday.

Rounding out the scoring for the Icemen was Darcy Hrycauk with two goals, Danny Hicke and Sean Jozsa and Corbin Coyes with a goal each. Gord MacLean, Greg Coonfer, Reynoudt Jalink and Travis Copp each added two assists. Goaltender Travis Copp picked up the win for the Icemen giving up 0 goals.

Striking for the Sofa Kings was Patrick Schultz and Rob Wilson chipping in with a goal each. Goaltender Blair Myers surrendered 0 goals in the loss for the Sofa Kings.

With the win, the Icemen improve to 2-0-0-0 while the Sofa Kings fall to 1-1-0-0.
