Sheen scores five, Rustlers rally to outperform Da Byes
Calgary, AB – Kyle Sheen scored five goals including his eighth goal of the season with 0:35 remaining in the third period and as the Rustlers erased a three-goal deficit and extended their winning streak to three games with a 9-8 victory over the Da Byes at Father David Bauer on Sunday.
Adding markers for the Rustlers was Matt Vanderberg with two goals, Kevin Leonard and Gregg Moore each contributing with single markers. Ben Couzens and Fraser Grant each added two assists. Goaltender Cam Goldade picked up the victory for the Rustlers giving up 0 goals.
Providing the offence for the Da Byes was Scott Anderson* with two goals and Jason Smith*, Deon Chappell*, Chris Avery*, Joe Tsai*, Geoff Moggy* and Kyle Brennan* with a goal each. Smith* added three assists, Chappell*, Avery*, Glenn Saunders* and Blair Neil* each added two assists. Goaltender Dave Anderson surrendered 0 goals in the loss for the Da Byes.
The Da Byes jumped out to a 7-4 lead when Smith* scored his first of the season with 11:15 left in the third period but Vanderberg responded for the Rustlers with his seventh of the season to start the rally.
With the victory, the Rustlers improve to 3-0-0-0 while the Da Byes fall to 1-1-1-0.
