Calgary, AB – Kevin Lodberg* scored a hat-trick and added an assist to fuel the Grasshoppers to a 12-5 thrashing over the Sofa Kings at Henry Viney on Thursday.

Capping off the scoring for the Grasshoppers was Kenton Haugrud* with a hat-trick, Duane Smith* and Brad Phillips*, Barrett Dube, Brad Stroich*, Kyle Smith* ( A) and Jeff Huntley* contributing with a goal each. Smith*, Phillips*, Lance Davidson* and Mark Dyer* each added two assists. Goaltender Trevor Devenich* picked up the win for the Grasshoppers giving up 0 goals.

Sniping for the Sofa Kings was Matthew Gillick * with a hat-trick and Kevin Sawyer * and Lyle Armitage * each tallying single markers. Goaltender Nico Vandersalm * surrendered 12 goals in the loss for the Sofa Kings.

With the win, the Grasshoppers improve to 1-0-0-0 while the Sofa Kings fall to 0-1-0-0.
