Marchand* scores pair, Pylons outperform Pirates
Calgary, AB – Brandon Marchand* scored two goals including his third goal of the season with 1:39 remaining in the third period and and added two assists to help bring the Pylons to a 5-4 triumph over the Pirates at Ernie Starr on Sunday.
Completing the scoring for for the Pylons was Rick Schiller* and Justin Wetsch* and Derek Riewe* chipping in with singles. Schiller*, Wetsch*, Paul Robb*. Goaltender Scott Sutherland picked up the victory for the Pylons giving up four goals.
The victory extinguished the Pylons' four-game losing streak.
Finding the back of the net for the Pirates was Tim Cross*, Kevin Murphy*, Darryl Lewis* and Lyden Dyck* each contributing with single markers. Mark Harper* added two assists. Goaltender Nico Vandersalm surrendered five goals in the loss for the Pirates.
With the victory, the Pylons improve to 4-14-2-0 while the Pirates fall to 5-14-0-0.
