Calgary, AB – Derek Root* scored a hat-trick to lift the Warthogs to an 8-1 clobbering over the Mets at Optimist on Saturday.

Capping off the scoring for the Warthogs was Dave Yuris* and Dale Kindlein* with a pair of goals each and Dan Law* with a single marker. Yuris*, Law* and Jeff Kulyk* each added two assists. Goaltender Chris Lowe* picked up the win for the Warthogs holding the Mets to a single goal.

Tallying the lone goal for the Mets was and Ed Melville*, his fifth of the season. Goaltender Matt Elder* surrendered 0 goals in the loss for the Mets.

With the win, the Warthogs improve to 10-6-0-0 while the Mets fall to 6-7-3-0.
