Calgary, AB – Dustin Shewchuk scored two goals and added two assists as the Hopewell Hurricanes extended its winning streak to seven games with a 8-1 spanking over the Flying Elbows at Optimist on Sunday.

Also scoring for the Hopewell Hurricanes was Andy Keats* and Scott Bishop*, Steve Nemeth*, Aaron Cowley*, Nick Benoit* and Darryl Arnason* with a goal each. Shewchuk, Keats*, Bishop*, Nemeth* and John Doyle* each added two assists. Goaltender Steve Tolhurst* picked up the win for the Hopewell Hurricanes holding the Flying Elbows to a single goal.

Scoring the lone goal for the Flying Elbows was and Dave Tadros, his fourth of the season. Goaltender Allan Manz* surrendered 0 goals in the loss for the Flying Elbows.

With the win, the Hopewell Hurricanes improve to 16-10-4-0 while the Flying Elbows fall to 16-8-6-0.
