Shesky* tallies four, IceHogs comeback to get past Chiefs
Calgary, AB – Justin Morgan* scored his 24th goal of the season with 0:20 remaining in the third period and Jeff Shesky* scored four goals as the IceHogs erased a five-goal deficit and extended their winning streak to three games with a 10-9 triumph over the Chiefs at Stew Hendry on Sunday.
Capping off the scoring for the IceHogs was Scott Lindsay* and Blaine Dobinson*, Jeremy Leece*, Mike Tanton*, Don Campbell* contributing with a goal each. Lindsay* added three assists, Dobinson*, Steve Stowe* and Ashley Raabis* each added two assists. Goaltender Jody Stevens* picked up the win for the IceHogs giving up nine goals.
Sniping for the Chiefs was Darren McCutcheon* and Dave Wirsta*, Bruce Gillis* and Karl Johanson* with a pair of goals each and Ryan Joseph* with a single tally. Wirsta* and McCutcheon* each added three assists, Joseph*, Darren McKay* and Terry Gulewich* each added two assists. Goaltender Scott Ellard surrendered 0 goals in the loss for the Chiefs.
The Chiefs jumped out to a 5-0 lead when McCutcheon* scored his 32nd of the season with 12:49 left in the first period but Dobinson* responded for the IceHogs with his 12th of the season to start the rally.
With the win, the IceHogs improve to 11-5-2-0 while the Chiefs fall to 8-9-1-0.
