DiMarzo nets pair, Melrose comeback to get past Chevron

Calgary, AB – Simon DiMarzo scored two goals including his 12th goal of the season with 0:10 remaining in the third period and to lift the Melrose to a 5-4 conquest over the Chevron at Ernie Starr on Sunday.

Capping off the scoring for the Melrose was Werner Gartner and Dustin Leskosky and Dave Quinn contributing with a goal each. Jay Brown added three assists. Goaltender Quinn Morettin picked up the win for the Melrose giving up 0 goals.

Sniping for the Chevron was Mike Eleftheriou, Kevin Sinnott, Kyle Keith and Mark Fitzgerald each tallying single markers. Goaltender John Scott surrendered 0 goals in the loss for the Chevron.

The Chevron jumped out to a 4-0 lead when Keith scored his eighth of the season with 3:45 left in the second period but Leskosky responded for the Melrose with his fourth of the season to start the rally.

With the win, the Melrose improve to 7-14-0-0 while the Chevron fall to 8-10-3-0.
