Cowley scores four, Hopewell Hurricanes smash Thunder
Calgary, AB – Aaron Cowley scored four goals to spark the Hopewell Hurricanes to an 8-4 pummeling over the Thunder at Ernie Starr on Sunday.
Also scoring for the Hopewell Hurricanes was Andy Keats with a hat-trick and Lane Tamagi with a single tally. Jeff Snyder added three assists, Tamagi and Brent McClocklin each added two assists. Goaltender Mark Flath picked up the win for the Hopewell Hurricanes giving up 0 goals.
Lighting the lamp for the Thunder was Aaron Yamniuk, Gary Bianchini, Cory Fell and Dale Martin each adding a goal. Goaltender Leo Thoms surrendered eight goals in the loss for the Thunder.
The loss snuffed out the Thunder's six-game winning streak.
With the win, the Hopewell Hurricanes improve to 12-11-2-0 while the Thunder fall to 18-5-2-0.
