Calgary, AB – Steve Stowe* scored a hat-trick and added two assists to spark the Icehogs to a 13-5 pummeling over the Rustlers at Stew Hendry on Thursday.

Also scoring for the Icehogs was Todd McAleese* with a hat-trick, Mike Tanton*, Scott Lindsay* and Derrick Moore* with a pair of goals each and Kevin Free* with a single tally. Tim Norick* added four assists, Tanton* and Free* each added three assists, Stowe*, Moore*, Lindsay*, Ashley Raabis*, Tyler Yachyshen*, Shawn Foster* and Bill Stait* each added two assists. Goaltender Jody Stevens* picked up the win for the Icehogs giving up five goals.

Lighting the lamp for the Rustlers was Brad Hart* with two goals and Nick Darling*, Kevin Leonard* and Carey Ernewein* each adding a goal. Darling* added three assists, Leonard*, Ernewein* and Dave Carlgren* each added two assists. Goaltender Jared Wesley* surrendered 13 goals in the loss for the Rustlers.

With the win, the Icehogs improve to 1-0-0-0 while the Rustlers fall to 0-1-0-0.
