Calgary, AB – Todd Bigelow scored his first goal of the season with 8:15 remaining in the third period and Brad Haley scored a hat-trick to help the Thunder to a 7-6 win over the Chevron at Stew Hendry on Saturday.

Also scoring for the Thunder was Aaron Yamniuk, Chris Gibson, Greg Varga each adding a goal. Dale Martin added three assists, Tim Arnett and Darren Jones each added two assists. Goaltender Leo Thoms picked up the win for the Thunder giving up six goals.

Striking for the Chevron was Trevor Witowski and Kevin Sinnott with a pair of goals each, Scott Sharp and Greg Deuchar with a goal each. Witowski added two assists. Goaltender Blaine Bugg surrendered 0 goals in the loss for the Chevron.

The Chevron jumped out to a 5-2 lead when Sinnott scored his second of the season with 6:54 left in the second period but Gibson responded for the Thunder with his first of the season to start the rally.

With the win, the Thunder improve to 1-0-0-0 while the Chevron fall to 0-1-0-0.
