Peers nets hat-trick, Blazers mount comeback to guide past Kings
Calgary, AB – Justin Peers scored a hat-trick and added two assists to help fuel the Blazers erased a four-goal deficit and to a 10-8 win over the Kings at Stew Hendry on Sunday.
Rounding out the scoring for the Blazers was David Reimer with a hat-trick, Josh Clements and Brent Rauch, Andrew Schubert and Adam Brandt chipping in with a goal each. Clements and Quinn Logan each added three assists, Rauch, Schubert. Goaltender Jake Mandin picked up the win for the Blazers giving up eight goals.
Striking for the Kings was Ryan Richards with a hat-trick, Charles Abbott with a hat-trick and Will Gretton and Slater Ransom with a goal each. Gretton added four assists, Richards and Ransom each added three assists. Goaltender Nico Vandersalm surrendered 10 goals in the loss for the Kings.
The setback halted the Kings' three-game winning streak.
The Kings jumped out to a 6-2 lead when Abbott scored his 25th of the season with 3:47 left in the first period but Brandt responded for the Blazers with his eighth of the season to start the rally.
With the win, the Blazers improve to 14-11-2-0 while the Kings fall to 10-15-2-0.
