Coyne nets hat-trick, Bears defeat Goldenhawks
Calgary, AB – Samuel Coyne scored a hat-trick and added two assists as the Bears extended their winning streak to four games with a 9-7 conquest over the Goldenhawks at Optimist on Sunday.
Capping off the scoring for the Bears was Ryley Bosman and Nic Nolet with a pair of goals each and Brett Switzer and Mike Winnitoy each tallying single markers. Switzer added four assists, Cameron Lamoureux and Tyler Yamashiro each added three assists and Coyne added two assists. Goaltender Nathan Hargrave picked up the win for the Bears giving up seven goals.
Sniping for the Goldenhawks was Kurt Thorner and Cole Percifield with a pair of goals each, Dan Warkentin, Austin Smith and Darren Schurman contributing with a goal each. Jaime Clague and Cory Fraser each added three assists, Thorner and Dennis Hall each added two assists. Goaltender Nik Bregeda surrendered nine goals in the loss for the Goldenhawks.
The loss snuffed out the Goldenhawks' five-game winning streak.
With the win, the Bears improve to 7-1-1-0 while the Goldenhawks fall to 6-3-0-0.
