Calgary, AB – Tyler Witzke scored a hat-trick and added an assist to guide The Herd erased a three-goal deficit and to a 10-8 conquest over the New Jori Devils at Optimist on Saturday.

Capping off the scoring for The Herd was Jagger Theissen and Connor Taylor with a pair of goals each and Kyle Harrison, Owen Guenter and Ethan Trampuh contributing with a goal each. Harrison and Dylan Wenzel each added four assists, Jaren Turnquist added three assists, Guenter and Evan Loura each added two assists. Goaltender Nick Ewanchuk picked up the win for The Herd giving up eight goals.

Cashing in for the New Jori Devils was Mike Petursson with four strikes, John Webb with two goals and Jonathan Forrest and John Schipilow each adding single tallies. Forrest added three assists, Eric Wasylenko and Erik Marchuk each added two assists. Goaltender Matt Philip surrendered nine goals in the loss for the New Jori Devils.

The New Jori Devils jumped out to a 3-0 lead when Schipilow scored his first of the season with 8:08 left in the first period but Theissen responded for The Herd with his first of the season to start the rally.

Theissen deposited his second of the season into an empty net with 0:12 left in the third period to seal the win for The Herd.

With the win, The Herd improve to 2-3-0-0 while the New Jori Devils fall to 0-4-1-0.
