Calgary, AB – Samuel Coyne scored a hat-trick and added an assist to help lift the Bears to a 7-3 pounding over the Beefcakes at Max Bell #1 on Thursday.

Adding markers for the Bears was Brett Switzer with two goals, Tyler Gartner and Daniel Disipio with a goal each. Nic Nolet added four assists and Kevin Wowk added two assists. Goaltender Nathan Hargrave picked up the victory for the Bears giving up three goals.

Scoring for the Beefcakes was Kevin Robertson, Jeff Sapieha and Matthew Vanderberg each with single strikes. Robertson and Marc Rancourt each added two assists. Goaltender Broedy Gaschler surrendered seven goals in the loss for the Beefcakes.

With the victory, the Bears improve to 1-0-0-0 while the Beefcakes fall to 1-1-0-0.
