Calgary, AB – Tyson Trail scored a hat-trick and added an assist to help the Mustangs to an 8-3 spanking over the Smokin' Guns at Frank McCool on Friday.

Also scoring for the Mustangs was Garrett Forster with a hat-trick, Austin Connelly and Brent Phelps each adding a goal. Connelly, Jason Braun, Taylor Johnson and Caine Hussey-Derrer each added two assists. Goaltender JF Voyer picked up the win for the Mustangs giving up three goals.

The win snapped the Mustangs' three-game losing skid.

Striking for the Smokin' Guns was Kyle Thompson, Laurent Truong and Clifton O'Brien with a goal each. Joel Manson added two assists. Goaltender Jeremy Walls surrendered eight goals in the loss for the Smokin' Guns.

With the win, the Mustangs improve to 9-10-4-0 while the Smokin' Guns fall to 11-12-0-0.
