McCutcheon strikes twice, Colts defeat Blackout
Calgary, AB – Darren McCutcheon scored two goals including his 21th goal of the season with 12:07 remaining in the second period and and added an assist to lift the Colts to a 6-5 conquest over the Blackout at Ernie Starr on Sunday.
Capping off the scoring for the Colts was Tyler Wiebe with two goals and Ken Toews and James Barnes each adding single tallies. Toews added three assists. Goaltender Wesley Kitchen picked up the win for the Colts giving up five goals.
The victory extinguished the Colts' five-game losing streak.
Sniping for the Blackout was Nathan Wood, Devin Ness, Devon Downey, Jordan Simard and Jordan Moe contributing with a goal each. Wood added two assists. Goaltender Chase Simard surrendered six goals in the loss for the Blackout.
With the win, the Colts improve to 5-11-1-0 while the Blackout fall to 3-13-1-0.
