Calgary, AB – Matthew Vanderberg scored four goals and added three assists to help lift the Beefcakes erased a three-goal deficit and to a 13-11 victory over the New Jori Devils at Southland on Monday.

Adding markers for the Beefcakes was Kevin Robertson with a hat-trick, Garrick Perry and Fraser Grant with a pair of goals each and Brian Moore and Jesse Steranko each with single strikes. Robertson added five assists, Brett Person added four assists, Wes Jardine, Perry added two assists. Goaltender X Torry picked up the victory for the Beefcakes giving up 11 goals.

Scoring for the New Jori Devils was Gerry Junio with five goals, Bryce Schneider with two goals and Behn Watson, Jonathan Forrest, Kenton Haugrud and Ryan Pearce each adding single goals. Diego Arenas added three assists, Schneider, Watson, Eric Wasylenko and Rob Deis each added two assists. Goaltender Luc Dion surrendered 13 goals in the loss for the New Jori Devils.

The New Jori Devils jumped out to a 4-1 lead when Haugrud scored his first of the season with 4:55 left in the first period but Vanderberg responded for the Beefcakes with his first of the season to start the rally.

With the victory, the Beefcakes improve to 3-2-0-0 while the New Jori Devils fall to 1-2-2-0.
