Calgary, AB – Garnet Klassen* scored a hat-trick and added an assist as the Melrose Cafe extended their winning streak to five games with a 7-5 conquest over the Hopewell Hurricanes at Optimist on Saturday.

Rounding out the scoring for the Melrose Cafe was Ryan Ironside with two goals, Jay Brown* and Brett Norrie* each adding single tallies. Brown* and Ben Smith each added two assists. Goaltender Rich Morris* picked up the win for the Melrose Cafe giving up 0 goals.

Cashing in for the Hopewell Hurricanes was Doug Pickell* with two goals and Steve Nemeth*, Andy Keats* and Trevor Hunt* chipping in with a goal each. Nemeth* added four assists and Keats* added two assists. Goaltender Cody McDade surrendered 0 goals in the loss for the Hopewell Hurricanes.

With the win, the Melrose Cafe improve to 13-1-1-0 while the Hopewell Hurricanes fall to 7-7-0-0.
