Freel scores pair, Mile High Club beat Hopewell Hurricanes
Calgary, AB – Robert Freel scored two goals and added an assist to help bring the Mile High Club to a 6-4 triumph over the Hopewell Hurricanes at Optimist on Saturday.
Completing the scoring for for the Mile High Club was Kyle Matthyssen and Jarod Storey, Graham Todd and Kyle Corbiell chipping in with singles. Evan Longdo and Gavin Stephen each added two assists. Goaltender Kevin Barron picked up the victory for the Mile High Club giving up four goals.
The victory extinguished the Mile High Club's four-game losing streak.
Finding the back of the net for the Hopewell Hurricanes was Kehl Snyder, Andrew Keats, Alexander Chow and Trevor Ceccanese chipping in with a goal each. Curtis Ceccanese added three assists. Goaltender Steve Tolhurst surrendered six goals in the loss for the Hopewell Hurricanes.
With the victory, the Mile High Club improve to 2-5-0-0 while the Hopewell Hurricanes fall to 4-3-0-0.
