Calgary, AB – Matt Clenchy scored his third goal of the season with 2:17 remaining in the second period and Ryan Sweeney scored a goal and added three assists as the Hopewell Hurricanes extended their winning streak to three games with a 7-6 conquest over the Mustangs at Stew Hendry on Sunday.

Rounding out the scoring for the Hopewell Hurricanes was Eric Kardish, Kehl Snyder, Curtis Ceccanese, Matthew Krystofiak chipping in with a goal each. Kardish, Snyder and Andrew Keats each added two assists. Goaltender Steve Tolhurst picked up the win for the Hopewell Hurricanes giving up six goals.

Cashing in for the Mustangs was BJ Gurba and Kirk Dibieliwisz with a pair of goals each, Brent Phelps and Colin Baillargeon each adding single tallies. Troy Nowakowski added four assists and Gurba added two assists. Goaltender JF Voyer surrendered seven goals in the loss for the Mustangs.

With the win, the Hopewell Hurricanes improve to 15-3-3-0 while the Mustangs fall to 13-6-2-0.
