Towns nets hat-trick, Flying Elbows comeback to beat Knights

Calgary, AB – Eric Nerbas scored his fourth goal of the season with 9:15 remaining in the third period and Scott Towns scored a hat-trick to help bring the Flying Elbows to an 8-7 triumph over the Knights at Optimist on Sunday.

Completing the scoring for for the Flying Elbows was Nathan Woynarski and Mike Parker, Marc Collins, Luke Holland chipping in with a goal each. Woynarski added four assists and Steve Tuckey added two assists. Goaltender Allan Manz picked up the victory for the Flying Elbows giving up seven goals.

Finding the back of the net for the Knights was Chris Young with a hat-trick, Matthew Cundall with two goals and Jeremy Church and Jason Zurburg chipping in with singles. Young added three assists and Cundall added two assists. Goaltender Trevor Sedgwick surrendered eight goals in the loss for the Knights.

The Knights jumped out to a 6-1 lead when Church scored his first of the season with 18:01 left in the second period but Parker responded for the Flying Elbows with his third of the season to start the rally.

With the victory, the Flying Elbows improve to 9-6-2-0 while the Knights fall to 1-13-3-0.
