2023 PLAYOFFS

 

Dates: March 26 - April 18, 2023.

 

·        Divisional Modified Double Knock-Out format (Best of 3 Final)

 

·        Playoff teams:

Division #2                               - Top 6 teams

Division #3                               - Top 6 teams

Division #4                               - Top 6 teams

Division #5                               - Top 6 teams
 
 ·        Regular Season Tie-breakers:
1 - Wins 
2 - Records (of teams tied) in games against each other
3 - Total season differential of goals for vs. goals against
 
 ·        Eligibility:
Players - must be on the team roster and have played a minimum of 10 games
Goalies - must be on the team roster and must have played a minimum of 5 games .  
Any player not meeting the above criteria will be ruled an illegal player and that team will forfeit those
games and team reps will be subject to a review by the Board of Directors with possible suspensions.
Players found to be playing under another persons name will result in a forfeit of those games.
**The board will address the use of an alternate goalie or player exceptions on an individual basis.**
 
Board approved playoff players:  Jared Sledz (Raiders), Brandon Aab (Goats), Jamie Prior (Schooners), Connor Baron (Ringers), Michael St. Laurent (Flying Elbows)
 
  ·        Suspensions:
All suspensions from the regular season are carried over into the playoffs.  Any suspensions given out in
the playoffs will be served during the playoffs and carried over into the the next season if required.  
The regular season playing rules will be used as a base line for suspensions, but the Board will
determine what appropriate suspension is during the playoffs.

 ·        Penalty Caps:
The penalty caps for players and individuals are only applicable for the regular season and do not carry
over into the playoffs.  Any penalty cap suspensions from the regular season do carry over into the playoffs.
 ·        Scoresheets:
The home team will supply the scoresheet.
  ·        Scorekeeper:
 If a scorekeeper does not show up for a game the home team is responsible for supplying a scorekeeper
  ·        Playing Rules:
Same as the regular season, including the 3 penalty rule (double minor is considered 2 penalties)  
All major penalties carry an automatic game misconduct.  No goalie, no game (Forfeit)

 ·        Games:
All games are stop time
All games must have a winner
Period lengths are modified from the regular season to accommodate the chance of a tie after regulation.  
1st Period - 20 minutes
2nd period - 15 minutes
3rd period - 15 minutes
If a game is tied after regulation there will be a shootout to determine the winner. 
The home team has the option of shooting first or last.
Each team will have 5 shooters.  The team with the best out of 5 shots wins the game.
If after 5 shooters the game is still tied, it moves to a sudden death shootout, the next goal wins.
If the team that shoots first scores, the team that shoots second has a chance to redeem themselves,
if they miss the game is over.  
All skaters from each team must be used before a player can shoot for the second time. 
 
 ·        Finals:
All division finals are the best 2 out of 3 series
All games are stop time
All games must have a winner
